Moody Gardens

A couple weeks ago, Josh decided to take a random Friday off so we packed up the boys and drove down to Galveston's Moody Gardens. There are so many things to do there, and since one can never quite figure out what our boys will both enjoy, we bought the all inclusive pass....AND DID EVERYTHING. (Well, almost: we opted out of a movie for the sake of the rest of the audience. Plus, then we wouldn't have gotten to see the 4D Dora and Diego Movie. Wouldn't want to miss that!)

Anyway, we got there nice and early and set up camp in a cabana by the lazy river. We played in the water for a few hours, then had lunch, and then managed to explore all three pyramids. The aquarium was Kaleb's favorite for sure. He proudly proclaims "The shark didn't eat me" because he somehow managed to safely view a shark through a 6 inch think aquarium wall...just like the rest of us. ;) The rainforest pyramid is a MUCH better exhibit than it used to be, and the third pyramid, whatever it is, is still quite boring. :P

So in conclusion, we had a great day! It was almost like a little vacation except we didn't have to board the beagles and got to sleep in our own beds when it was over. And speaking of sleep, the littlest Davis boy was OUT before we even pulled out of the parking lot!

School!

On Monday, Kaleb started going to a Mother's Day Out program at a nearby private Christian school. He goes 2 days a week for about 6 hours...and so far he LOVES LOVES LOVES it. I was so surprised at his enthusiasm and confidence on the first day, and no, I didn't cry when he walked into the classroom (and away from me) without hesitation. I actually did a little dance. :) Just kidding -- wouldn't want to embarrass him on his first day. LOL So now 2 days a week I only have one kid. It's kind of weird but I'm sure it'll soon just be normal. If we all love this school as much as I think we will, we'll probably enroll Colt for the spring semester (assuming the wait-list isn't miles long) and then keep the boys there for preschool when the time arrives.

He picked out this Chuggington backpack (and matching lunchbox) all by himself, and I was so surprised (and happy) that he did NOT pick out the Cars 2 bags. The boy is obsessed.

Oh, and of course, Grandma made him the coolest nap mat. It matches his satin and minky blankie, which he isn't taking to MDO, in hopes that he'll feel comforted if he needs it. The boy basically has the Cadillac of nap mats. (And given who his mother is, no one should be too surprised. lol)

Waterslide!!!

We bought the boys a super fun inflatable waterslide since the pool is closing soon, it's still over 100 degrees outside, they LOVE to be outside, and we can't afford a big pool yet. Practical purchase, then, right (or at least well justified)? lol

Anyway, they LOVE it. Colt isn't quite big enough to climb up by himself yet but luckily it's easy enough to just plop him up there, and he knows what to do from there! Kaleb just runs in a circle...climbing up, sliding down, climbing up, sliding down, and sometimes sliding down the stair part!

And while I enjoy the slide myself, I really enjoy that it makes my children eat well and sleep well. :) Kaleb told me that he was "really hungry" for the first time in his entire life after a few hours on the slide. Woohoo!

Wow..Not even going to try...

...to play catch-up! Clearly we've either been busy, the boys have been consuming all of our time, or time is simply flying. (My bet is on all 3!) Anyway, here are some recent-ish photos of our cuties from the last couple of months.

Colt's first hair cut! Thanks, Grandma!!

Kaleb thinks this mask is the best thing since sliced bread. Seriously.

Slip 'n' Slide with Daddy!

I can't stop him from eating. He eats and eats and eats! And then he wakes up crying because he's hungry!

Playing potato heads.

Colton and his best bud, Corbin.

Yay for family photos! Kaleb was ecstatic.

"Hiking" with Uncle Jase. We were in The Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs.

What? A picture with NO KIDS?? That hasn't happened in years!!! lol

Colorado vacation.

Yes - it was cold enough for hats one morning.

Riding his car!

Baby's first watermelon. He loved it. Duh. Who doesn't like watermelon? Oh wait...Kaleb...

This kid right here. ;)

Grandma had him try this hat on because it reminded her of her dad, my Grandpa C. Too cute. (K was actually upset that we didn't buy it.)
