Swim Party!

Colt's favorite part of any party...the food. :)

My dare devil.

Taking his momma's approach to jumping in.  FYI: He totally knows how to swim ON HIS OWN.

Okay, so they both really like the snacks.

And cookie cake.

This mama duck did not check the location of the nearest diving rock before setting up her nest...

First pinata attempt. Yes, he put that much effort into it.
I'd watch out for this guy if you ever see him with a bat...

Colt's translation of "open your eyes and say cheese"

And this is what happens when 2 little boys skip their naps to swim outside in the TX heat.

Happy Easter!

Every spring, I love to torture my children by attempting to take pictures of them in the bluebonnets. They hate smiling for pictures; thus, we never get any good ones. Never.

Picnic at Washington on the Brazos with G'ma and G'pa.

Oh NOW you want to ham it up...

Helping "fill" the pool. Not much water got in.

Time for Easter Eggs.

The Easter Bunny came!

Colt is TWO

I can't believe he's 2....until I see him throwing a fit on the grocery store floor. THEN I can believe it. Haha.

The morning of his birthday, we all went to get Colton out of his crib, and he was very surprised! Josh and I had decorated the breakfast area in everything Sesame Street (including a larger-than-life Elmo balloon) the night before so both boys were quite excited. Colt, unfortunately, was and still is terrified of the Elmo balloon. Bummer. It seemed so cool in the store!

We had a fun birthday morning of presents and breakfast birthday cake (monkey bread), followed by swimming lessons and lunch (Chick-fil-a) at the park. Josh had to go out of town later that day so the boys and I just played/napped most of the afternoon. We ended Colt's birthday celebration with ice cream sundaes from Sonic.

Colt's 2 year stats: 29.6 pounds (69%) and 35" tall (67%). Not too shabby! (Kaleb at age 2 was 28 pounds and also 35", if we're comparing them.)

Valentine's Day Fun

I absolutely love Valentine's Day...and I'm not sure why. I think it's because I love pink and red and hearts and crafts and cookies and flowers and chocolates and strawberries and steak dinners...but regardless the reason, I'm determined to make my boys love it too!

Kaleb decorated cookies at his class party. He was by far the most skilled, thanks to Grandma!

Most of them just ate the frosting with spoons...

And there's Colton...again...at another one of K's MDO parties. This kid is very popular.

Teacher gifts!

Valentines for his friends. And his girlfriend. ;)

Making cards for Daddy.

And bookmarks too!

Colt thought it was hilarious to press a clear lid on his face. He was right. Kaleb couldn't quite do it as well though because he doesn't have that baby chub like Colton. :)

My Valentine isn't eating sweets while he's training so I made him a fruit bouquet. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but Josh thought that I bought it. :)

Helping with heart-shaped blueberry muffins. I ate 3; the boys collectively ate about half of one. LOL
This was AFTER the muffins were in the oven.

He informed me that Grandma has a small spatula and bowl for him. Guess I need to go buy some kid-sized cooking utensils.

All done!
