Big Boy Toy
Kaleb picked this out himself....he really did. I tried to persuade him to get a different standing table, but he sort of threw a little fit because he only wanted this one. At one point, Grandma had to walk next to the cart holding this toy where he could keep an eye on it to make sure that we really were going to buy it. :)

Platelets
For all of you following Kaleb's platelet saga...at last week's CBC appointment, his platelet count was WAY up to 120,000!!! He's still a bit below average (150,000 to 400,000), but with the steady increase that we've seen over the past month, his pediatrician thinks he's on the mend! So much, in fact, that we don't have to go back to the doctor until his 12 month check-up (we were going every 2 weeks for blood work...). Praise the Lord; what a blessing!

Water Days
Kaleb LOVES to swim in his little backyard pool! He spends about an hour in it every day, and we are lucky to have shade in the afternoons so it only feels like it's about 90 degrees when combined with our ever-present Pearland breeze (instead of the 100+ that it really is). Soon we'll have to start going to our neighborhood water park!

First Fourth
We had our families, Jason, and the Weidigs over for the 4th. Kaleb and John John had a GREAT time playing together. They are so cute...and so different! Kaleb scoots around on his belly, while John John pushes up into the crawling position. So if they could just teach each other their moves, they'd both be crawling!

Kaleb discovers the doorstop...
This video is so sad....but cracks me up! Poor guy. He scared himself to death! As you can see, he is pretty much a professional at army crawling. Hopefully he'll really crawl soon.
Updated!
So I'm finally updating Kaleb's blog! My sister recently started a blog for her two little ones, and the pressure got to me. :)
Kaleb will be 10 months old on Friday. I can't believe it! He is officially 20 pounds heavier and a foot longer than he was at his birth (24 pounds and 29 inches). He has been off the "premature baby charts" since he turned 6 months old. We have been so incredibly blessed to have such a healthy son given his early arrival. He has had some problems with his platelet count, but that has nothing to do with his prematurity. About 6 weeks ago, we discovered that he has ITP, which basically means he has low platelets. He had an infusion when they were at their lowest (4,000), but I am pleased to report that last week, they were up to 78,000 (which still isn't even the low side of normal). BUT the doctors have hope that he will simply grow out of this.
Anyway, he's fine...just his happy, giggling self! I am going to do my best to update this blog pretty regularly. I know you're excited.
